Calgary is a wild ride – whether you are inside the arena duking it out with the best or on the outside of the arena working to maintain the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth” reputation – it is awe inspiring!
I learned a lot – last year I was still quite sick and in survival mode from my cancer treatments, so I definitely had a different view this year on the whole show!
Some personal highlights included
-I called Kassie Mowry’s record breaking run before it happened and actually had the balls to tell the Brett Gardiner the announcer it was going to happen that morning – and he told the crowd and I have it on video
-I met with one of the head of Faculty at the University of Calgary Equine Sciences program and she is interested in meeting more about my biomechanics research to help further it
-Wayne Brooks took the time to tell me how good I am at my job and that I should consider applying for the NFR – I explained that I appreciated that, but I was happy in Canada because I had some other amazing stuff on the go 🙂
Classes this week (all classes will be followed by an open zoom session for a minimum of 30 minutes) all times are central standard
Wed Jul 20- 9pm – Stampede Wrap up #1 – How I knew Kassie was going to break the record before she did
Thurs Jul 21 – 9am – Stampede Wrap up #2 – What tools your horse needs to handle big shows and what the successful riders did differently
Fri Jul 22 – 11 am – Figuring out your Fears
I missed you all – I felt like when your best friend goes away to summer camp and you just can’t function without them. If I get invited back to Calgary in 2023, I will do it a bit differently so as student’s you don’t feel my absence! I am SOOOO happy to be home!
See you live or on the replay,
