Horse Build – Vertical Center of Balance

Where to measure: the halfway point between the stifle joint or knee cap and the front elbow (Point 3 & 4)
When your horse takes a full stride – their legs will land and leave at the VCOB
The Vertical Center of Balance is the Axis or Center – if our weight is in front of this point, we force our horses shoulder point down and push them onto the forehand.
Posture Notes: If your horse is standing behind square, it can bring the elbow back and make it seem further back than it is. The Palomino (Kat) is standing behind square in this picture
